Example of a first reading

German Bundestag – 14th Electoral Term – 208st sitting Thursday, 13 December 2001, Berlin

Vice President Anke Fuchs:

I call items 17 a and 17 b on the agenda:
a) First reading of a bill presented by the Federal Government entitled Act to Reform the Weapons Law
– printed paper 14/7758 –

Proposal for referral to:
Committee on Internal Affairs (as the committee responsible)
Sports Committee
Committee on Legal Affairs
Committee on Consumer Protection, Food and Agriculture
Committee on Tourism (as committees asked for an opinion)

b) First reading of a bill presented by the Bundesrat entitled Third Act to Amend the Weapons Act
– printed paper 14/763 –

Proposal for referral to:
Committee on Internal Affairs (as the committee responsible)
Committee on Legal Affairs
Committee on Consumer Protection, Food and Agriculture
Committee on Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (as committees asked for an opinion)

I open the debate.

All speeches have been included in the minutes, rather than being delivered orally.

I declare the debate closed.

The parliamentary groups have proposed that the bills in question, printed papers 14/7758 and 14/763, be referred to the committees listed on the agenda. Do you agree to this proposal? ... This seems to be the case. The bills will therefore be referred as proposed..
