Roomy,
bright and equipped with the latest in conference technology, the
conference room Europa in the south-east rotunda is the largest of
all the committee meeting rooms. This is because of the special
role of the committee in dealing with European Union affairs. It is
the only standing committee that in certain circumstances is able
to pass parliamentary resolutions instead of the plenary session.
Members of the European Parliament regularly take part in its
meetings. The interpreter booths are used when foreign delegations
or state guests are being received. There is seating for visitors
on the top floor where pictures by artist Helmut Federle
hang.
