In the east is the conference room for the CDU/CSU (Christian Democrat) parliamentary party. The various parliamentary parties have a permanent base on the fourth floor of the Reichstag building. This makes it easy for all deputies from one particular party or party grouping to come together to take decisions regarding the introduction of draft legislation or political strategies. This room – just like the SPD conference room – is only lit from above as the Reichstag is a protected building and no window openings are allowed in the façade here.
