On Wednesday, 24 June, President of the Bundestag Norbert Lammert spoke in the Knesset of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Federal Republic of German and Israel 50 years ago. In a speech to the Israeli parliament, he called the intensity of the friendly relations between the two countries a “miracle of history”. In Hebrew, Lammert said: “We are grateful for our friendship and proud of our partnership.”
