Membership of executive bodies
On the basis of legal provisions or the relevant statutes, the Bundestag sends or appoints members to a number of government steering and supervisory bodies. In some cases they are Members of the Bundestag, in others they come from other areas of public life. The Bundestag appoints:
-
9 of the 18 members of the Regulatory Council of the Federal Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications as well as 9 substitutes;
-
3 of the 10 members of the Stamp Plan Advisory Council of the Deutsche Bundespost and 3 substitutes;
-
2 of the 14 members of the Advisory Committee for Artistic Design of the Deutsche Bundespost; they need not be Members of the Bundestag;
-
3 of the 29 members of the administrative board of the German Federal Film Board and 3 substitutes; they need not be Members of the Bundestag;
-
11 of the 23 members of the control committee of the Federal Equalization of Burdens Office as well as 11 substitute members; they need not be Members of the Bundestag either;
-
5 of the 23 members of the administrative board of the Federal Equalization of Burdens Office, who need not be Members of the Bundestag;

8 Members of the German Bundestag to serve on the 32-member board of trustees of the foundation "Museum of Contemporary History of the Federal Republic of Germany";
