Example of the mediation procedure

German Bundestag - 14th electoral term - 243rd sitting. Berlin, Friday, 14 June 2002

President Wolfgang Thierse:

I call supplementary item 14 on the agenda:

Debate on the recommendation of the Committee pursuant to Article 77 of the Basic Law (Mediation Committee) on the Act to Reform the Weapons Law

- printed papers 14/7758, 14/8886, 14/9341, 14/9432 -

Rapporteur:
Member of the German Bundestag Ludwig Stiegler

Does the rapporteur wish to take the floor? ... Does anyone wish to make a statement? ... That is not the case.

That brings us to the vote. In keeping with Rule 10, paragraph 3, first sentence of its Rules of Procedure, the Mediation Committee has decided that the German Bundestag should vote on the amendments as a whole. Votes in favour of the Mediation Committee's recommendation, printed paper 14/9432? ... Votes against? ... Abstentions? ... The recommendation of the Mediation Committee has been adopted, with the FDP parliamentary group abstaining and the other parliamentary groups voting in favour.
