Organization and working methods

The Bundestag's structures, procedures, powers and rules outlined here may appear confusing at first sight. However, they have developed as a result of many years' experience and have proved useful. They are all intended to make what is at the outset an unstructured assembly of 603 Members into a parliament based on a division of labour which is able to work efficiently and economically.
