Working for young and old
The Committee’s programme is summed up by its name. The Committee on Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth is either responsible for or asked for its opinion on all bills, motions, reports, resolutions and EU items relating to families, senior citizens, women and young people. Its main priorities include support for children and families and measures to help parents combine family life and paid employment. The Committee also seeks to promote the equal treatment of men and women, measures that enable old people to live independent lives and action to support young people and involve them in the wider community.
