Treatment of EU proposals in committee
To prepare for the discussion of EU proposals in the Committee on Health, each of the parliamentary groups has appointed one or two committee members to serve as EU Affairs Officers, who meet to prepare the Committee’s deliberations on any EU proposals that are on its agenda. They take it in turn to report back to the Committee on the outcome of their preliminary discussions. This is intended to simplify the discussion process in committee by focusing it on issues which the rapporteurs themselves have been unable to resolve or which have implications for the Committee as a whole. This procedure has already been followed successfully during the 14th and 15th electoral terms.
The following Members are the EU Affairs Officers of the Bundestag Committee on Health:
Mr Peter Albach and Mr Michael Hennrich
(CDU/CSU)
Dr Wolfgang Wodarg and Mr Eike Hovermann (SPD)
Mr Jens Ackermann (FDP)
Ms Inge Höger (The Left Party)
Dr Harald Terpe (Alliance 90/The Greens)
