A Question of Sport
The Sports Committee is responsible for all aspects of elite and mass sport and deliberates on the significance of sport for health, society and, not least, the economy. The Bundestag’s experts on sport policy help in particular to prepare all facets of high-profile sporting events, such as the 2006 Football World Cup. Disabled sport, sport research and the work done by volunteers in sports clubs also fall within their remit.
