In 2015, the German Bundestag is once again inviting visitors to its Open Day: on Sunday, 6 September 2015, Parliament will open its doors to the public from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Alongside the Reichstag Building, visitors can also explore the Paul Löbe Building and Marie-Elisabeth Lüders Building.
On this day, visitors can meet Members of the Bundestag at their place of work in Berlin and find out about how Parliament works and about a typical working day for Members and for the Bundestag’s Administration. In addition, the Open Day offers an opportunity to experience the architecture and art at the Reichstag, Paul Löbe and Marie-Elisabeth Lüders Buildings. On this day, people can take a look inside rooms normally closed to the public. There is lots to see and hear:
On the visitors’ galleries, the Vice-Presidents of the German Bundestag will talk about the work they do and about parliamentary procedures. The four parliamentary groups represented at the German Bundestag will present themselves on the fourth floor of the Reichstag Building. Whilst, in the Paul Löbe Building, visitors can learn about the Bundestag committees and their work. And the programme will be rounded off by an entertaining programme of events, cafes with music, and children’s activities.
Opening hours: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (last admission: 6 p.m.) Entrance is free of charge.
Further information on the programme will be available here shortly.
