Small and medium-sized enterprises in global competition
An old name returns: the Committee on Economics and Labour has once again become the Committee on Economics and Technology, reflecting the remit of the new Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. The issues the Committee discusses include topics in current economic policy that, in the context of the EU internal market and the pressures of global competition, are more than just domestic concerns. Fundamental questions of economic and energy policy, the postal sector, telecommunications, new technologies and innovation also have their place on the Committee’s agenda. Finally, the promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises constitutes a classic topic that is – and will remain – prominent in the work of the Committee’s members.
