Budget Committee
Without the consent of the Bundestag, the German Federal Government does not receive a single cent from the public purse. The Budget Committee of the German Bundestag deliberates on the amounts of money the Federation is to spend and for what purposes during the annual budgetary procedure. Furthermore, it scrutinises the Federal Government’s management of the budget on an ongoing basis and keeps a close eye on the financial assistance provided in the efforts to stabilise the euro. According to parliamentary custom, the Budget Committee is chaired by a member of the largest opposition parliamentary group.
