Committee on Economic Affairs and Energy
For the first time in the present 18th electoral term, the Economics Committee is responsible for all areas of energy policy. Its jurisdiction is identical with that of the Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. With 46 members, it is the largest committee of the German Bundestag, and is responsible for all aspects of the transformation of our energy system, the associated issues raised by climate protection and the topic of energy conservation. The priorities for its deliberations on energy policy will be the revision of the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), grid expansion and energy efficiency. All aspects of technology policy, industrial policy, policy for small and medium-sized enterprises, the European internal market, foreign trade and investment, and global competition feature on the Committee’s agenda.
