Committee on Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth
Although people usually only talk about the ‘Family Affairs Committee’, the Committee does deal with many other issues of relevance to social policy. Its activities are aimed at strengthening families, children and young people, making it easier for parents to combine family life with the demands of work, and promoting equality between women and men. Against the background of the demographic changes that are occurring in our society, the committee is particularly committed to the continuous further development of a framework that enables elderly people to live as independently as possible and measures that encourage all generations to get involved in their communities.
